Frequency is the average number of times each unique person in your audience has seen your ad. A frequency of 4.0 means each person in your reached audience has seen the ad four times on average.
At what frequency should I act?
Above 2.5 in 7 days is a warning to watch closely. Above 4.0 in 7 days needs immediate action: refresh the creative, expand the audience, or reduce the budget. Above 6.0 in 14 days means the audience is exhausted.
Does high frequency always mean bad performance?
Not always. Retargeting campaigns can sustain higher frequency because the audience already knows the brand. Cold prospecting campaigns are more sensitive. Context matters, but the thresholds above are safe starting points for most accounts.
What should I do when frequency is too high?
Three options. First, add new creatives to the ad set to reset exposure. Second, expand your target audience to reach fresh people. Third, reduce daily budget so the same audience is reached less often per day.
Can I monitor this automatically?
Yes. Toggle Watch mode on this playbook and ClickBoss will flag any ads crossing the frequency threshold in your morning briefing, before the CTR drop shows up.
